- The title of this episode is a parody of the famous urban legend, The Curse of King Tut.
- Snaptrap mentions the Wicked Witch of the West from Wizard of Oz
- While The Chameleon was "freeing" Dudley from the curse, he mentioned Brendan Fraser in his ramblings. This is a reference to the lead actor of The Mummy.
- When The Chameleon first scared Dudley, he also make a reference to the movie Jewel of the Nile in his many references to Egypt.
- In his attempts to act Egyptian, he also mentioned the Sphinx, pyramids, Egyptian cotton, Tutankhamen, and Nefertiti.
- The name "Dudley's Own Pasta Sauce" is a reference to Newman's Own brand of sauces. This joke was previously used in Puppy Love with the appearance of a bottle of "Chameleon's Own Salad Dressing".

Goofs
- When Kitty chases The Chameleon (as a wind-up mouse toy) she had her boots on, later outside when after she said she was going to use her rocket boots she was barefooted, then when she is back in King Mutt exhibit she had her boots back on.
- When Dudley caught his foot on the toilet paper that Snaptrap was wrapped in, it caused him to spin out of control and into the Hall of Sledgehammers Through History, but when we see him being hit, he is wrapped up again, then when he comes out he isn't.
