• This is the first episode to show Kitty and Dudley entirely naked (with fur strategically covering their private parts).
  • This is the second time Dudley gets girl hair, the first being Forget Me Mutt.
  • This is the first time The Chameleon wears something over his Molecular Transformation Suit, not counting the eyewear from previous and later episodes. (He wears a pea coat, a blue hat, and a red and white-striped scarf).
  • The Chameleon didn't bother changing into a swimsuit before he got into the pool.
  • This marks the second time a character's fur has been shaved, the first is Chilly Dog. Coincidentally, both episodes are polar opposites of each other: Chilly Dog having to do with ice skating (coldness), and Hot Dog having to do with a heatwave (extreme heat).
  • This is the first time in the series where blood is shown (as shown on the bits of paper Dudley uses to cover the cuts from his bad shaving).

  • This episode shows that Dudley shaves terribly, however in the episode Chilly Dog, he shaved perfectly.
  • The heat will actually affect The Chameleon the worst, since cold-blooded animals do not have any ways to release heat from their bodies on their own.
  • How is it possible for Kitty's fur to grow back so fast in the end of this episode?
  • When The Chief was giving the "Gave Up the Dog Show to Save Petropolis" award to Dudley, if you look at Dudley's hand he has fur but when the scene cuts to him he doesn't have fur.
