T.U.F.F. Puppy Wiki

Trivia

  • The title of this episode is a reference to the British national anthem, "God Save the Queen/King".
  • This episode was possibly inspired from the TV Show Get Smart in the episode That Old Gang of Mine, when Maxwell Smart and Agent 99, contact the British CONTROL and are assigned by them to stop a famous team of criminals from stealing the royal jewelry hidden in a vault inside the Buckingham Palace.
  • Cluckingham Palace is an obvious parody of Buckingham Palace.
  • The "Tower Prison" is based on the Tower of London and the guards inside the prison are based on the Yeoman Warders.
  • This is the first episode to fully take place outside Petropolis.
  • Dudley's disguise is based on that of the Buckingham Palace guards.
  • Kitty's disguise is a parody of Mary Poppins.
  • In an attempt to come off as an English nobleman, The Chameleon disguises himself as "Lord of the Flies". This is a reference to the novel by William Golding.
  • Along with the disguise, the episode also has Mary Poppins references, including one from the famous song, "A Spoonful of Sugar" (a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down.).
  • The Chameleon's disguise as Fifi Oui Oui from Puppy Love reappears in this episode.
  • Four other Undercover Fighting Forces are revealed in this episode: B.U.F.F. (British Undercover Fighting Force), S.C.R.U.F.F. (SCottish Undercover Fighting Force), G.R.U.F.F. (GReenland Undercover Fighting Force), and R.U.F.F. (Russian Undercover Fighting Force). However, it's unknown what the R in S.C.R.U.F.F. stands for.
  • Just like many famous Russian buildings and especially churches, R.U.F.F. has a characteristic onion dome on it.
  • It is also the second time he has become a taxi (this time a hackney carriage).
  • This episode marks the second alcohol reference. When Kitty mentions Scotland, the S.C.R.U.F.F. agency is shown and there's a building near it that resembles a jug with three Xs on it. This is a possible reference to the fact that the three Xs are seen on scotch bottles and jugs. The first episode was in Puppy Love.
  • England is not necessarily known as the U.K., as Kitty says it is.  This is a common misconception. The U.K. actually refers to England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland as a whole.

Running Gags

  • People stopping for tea at inconvenient times.
  • Everyone drinking tea with their pinkies extended.
  • Dudley spitting tea into people's faces to see if they're The Chameleon.
  • Kitty being blown away into the sky while holding her umbrella.
